My unique approach to counselling
At Lifelong Condition Counselling, my approach is deeply personal and professionally informed. Discover how my background and therapeutic methods create a supportive space for your journey.

Understanding your journey with lived experience
Support Rooted in Both Professional Training and Lived Experience
Living with a long-term health condition can bring challenges that extend far beyond the physical symptoms. It can affect your sense of identity, relationships, confidence, independence, and hopes for the future. Whether you have recently received a diagnosis, are adjusting to changes in your health, or have been living with a condition for many years, having a space to process these experiences can make a meaningful difference.
Alongside my professional training as a Humanistic Counsellor, I bring personal experience of navigating life with long-term health conditions. Having lived with Type 1 Diabetes since childhood and more recently adapting to a diagnosis of ME/CFS, I understand some of the emotional, practical and psychological challenges that can accompany changes in health. I also recognise that every person's experience is unique, and I never assume that your journey will be the same as my own.
My support is open to individuals living with any long-term health condition, as well as family members, partners and carers who may also be affected by the impact of diagnosis, treatment, uncertainty and adjustment. Whether you are experiencing feelings of loss, anxiety, frustration, grief, isolation, overwhelm or simply need a space where you feel understood, counselling can help you explore these experiences safely and at your own pace.
My approach is primarily person-centred and relational, grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I also draw upon existential philosophy, Gestalt theory, Transactional Analysis and psychoeducation where appropriate, tailoring support to your individual needs. Alongside therapeutic exploration, I can help you access information, resources and signposting that may support you in managing your condition and navigating the wider healthcare and support landscape.
Above all, I aim to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and empowered to find your own way forward.

A safe space for processing and growth
Whether you choose online, telephone or in-person counselling, you will be welcomed into a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Through empathic understanding, acceptance and genuine therapeutic support, we will explore the impact your condition may be having on your life, relationships, identity and emotional wellbeing.
Whether you are living with a long-term health condition, adjusting to a recent diagnosis, or supporting a loved one, counselling can provide an opportunity to make sense of the challenges you are facing. Together, we can explore feelings such as anxiety, grief, frustration, loss, uncertainty or overwhelm, helping you to develop greater self-understanding, resilience and confidence.
My aim is not to tell you how to live your life or manage your condition, but to support you in finding a way forward that feels meaningful, manageable and authentic to you.

Supporting families through shared challenges
I am particularly passionate about supporting families where a condition diagnosis has left them feeling isolated or unable to express their emotions and needs. My approach resonates deeply with parents of children with long-term conditions, partners adjusting to a loved one's diagnosis, and family members or carers seeking support. If your family is navigating a health challenge or a form of neurodivergence and feels alone, I am here to provide the understanding and guidance needed to communicate openly and find collective strength.
My integrative approach connects mind, body, and condition.
My counselling is integrative, drawing from person-centred counselling, transactional analysis, and an understanding of trauma in the body and the mind-body connection. I focus on how life-changing medical conditions can profoundly impact mental health, offering a holistic perspective to support your overall well-being.
